Description:
The Zero Gravity fly rod is the most advanced in the world, but can that improve your casting and make fishing more fun?You bet. When you can put a tiny midge pupa where you want, when you can throw a heavy fly into the wind without struggling, fly fishing is going to be more fun. No fly rod can make up for a lack of knowledge of the water or where fish live. But a superior rod can make up for minor glitches in your casting, and a truly superior rod can teach you to be a better caster, because the more you can feel the fly line, the better you can adjust your timing and casting style. The Zero G is that fly rod. Why? Because the exclusive combination of our combination of boron, thermoplastic resins, graphite, and carbon scrim system make the Zero G: So you can put maximum pressure on a fish without worrying about the rod failing. You'll be able to fight big fish with greater ease; turn them, control them, and handle them, so more come to the net without being played out to exhaustion. So when you drop it (and you know you will) on th e rocks or on the bottom of a boat, you'll worry less about damage. It holds up to shock to resist cracking and breakage that other rods would suffer. So you fish longer. So you improve both power and accuracy. Nearly half the weight of top-of-the-line rod blanks of a few years ago, the Zero G is the lightest rod blank we’ve ever made, with a 25% slimmer wall diameter. It’s incredibly nimble, so you feel your cast and know where your fly line is at all times.  All new, exclusive tapers made from entirely new mandrels for a slimmer profile, less air resistance and a livelier feel. All this and the Zero G is good looking, too. The Zero G boasts gorgeous hardware and a beautiful finish. Each is handmade in Vermont, continuing a 150-year tradition of premium Orvis rods. A beautifully engineered work of art, each Zero G includes: ·                       A final coat of the most scratch-resistant and beautiful finish we’ve ever found keeps your rod looking pristine longer. ·                       Neater and slimmer ferrules with a special Power Shim system eliminate cosmetic lines in the rod winding, so ferrules are all but imperceptible. ·                       Freshwater reel seats of lightweight yet strong nickel-silver anodized aluminum, crafted in a skeleton frame over gorgeous tiger maple inserts. Orvis and Zero G logos engraved on nickel-silver end cap.

·                       Saltwater reel seats crafted of total corrosion-proof, 6061 anodized aluminum and a ported shaft to reveal striking Texalium (metal-impregnated fiberglass, used in high-tech bicycle frames), to add luster and reduce weight for better balance.

This rod has been used once, therfore the $100.00 discount.  Rod is still in great shape with some use on the grips and on the rod tube.
