Bitterroot River at Darby

Daily River Report

May 23, 2013

It bumped last night, but is on it's way down again.  Be very careful wading and floating.  This river can be fatal if you aren't cautious or know what you are doing on the oars.  Right now it is a big stonefly nymph and san jaun thing.  Streamers are another option.  The fish are going to be tight to the banks and in softer water.  Side channels and backwaters are where most of the fish are concentrated trying to stay out of the faster main channel.  The river looks like it's going to take a bump today with this weather.  Keep checking the gauges and reports.  We'll see what happens as the rest of the week after today is supposed to be pretty chilly.

Be careful out there floating during the spring...

We have a bunch of new fly tying inventory!  Get tying during run-off...
