Daily River Report

July 21, 2015

Fishing has been consitent on the root. When you get out there early prospect with a chubby and your favorite PMD (mayfly) dropper about a size 14-16 or smaller yellow sallie, golden, or rubblerlegs size 10-12. Dont forget about your friend the pink san juan worm. Fish this untill you see some fish working on the surface then dry to trail a PMD parachute (16-18) or a PMD flash cripple (16-18). If that doesnt wrok go single dry on 4.5 5x as the low water has made these fish a touch spookier. As the day gets warmer dry throwing those bigger attractors tight on the banks and throw those inside diamond chop runs. Ants, Beetles, big mayfly parachutes Hoppers and chubbies are the aternoon flies. Even a larger hopper in size 8-12 has been picking up some chunky bows. Remember this fish are chilling in this warmer water so give them break and keep them wet as long as possible. Get them in quick and take a quick pic if you need to post that on instagram #flyfishing.
