Bitterroot River at Darby

Daily River Report

July 24, 2014

Fishing is good up and the dry fly enthusiast is very happy!  Mornings and evenings have been best, but with the cooler weather and clouds that we have rolling in we should have willing fish for most of the day.  PMD's, Drakes, Yellow Sallies, Caddis, Bitterroot Stones and Nocturnal Stones are all on the menu for the fish.  PMD Spinner Falls are happening late afternoons, Caddis and Yellow Sallies in the evenings and Stones throughout the day.  What more can you ask for?  Flies to have right now?  PMD Spinners, Rusty Spinners, P-Haze's, Bitterroot Stones, Fat Green Drakes, Green Drake Cripples, Luna Negra's, Purple and Golden Chubby's, X-Caddis, Snowshoe Caddis and Peacock Caddis.  For those that are nymphing or throwing a dropper off your bigger dries use Tungsten Reckoners, Purple Bergers, Double Bead Peacock Stones, Rubberlegs, Iron Sallies and Tungsten Sallie Nymphs.
It's fishing season!  We are fully stocked in the shop for all your fishing needs!
