Bitterroot River at Darby

Daily River Report

April 14, 2014

Starting to drop and become fishable.  There is about 2 - 3 ft of visiblity.  It's high water so be careful out there and pay attention.  Sub-surface is the way to go right now with Rubberlegs, Double Bead Stones, Terminator Stones, Princes and San Jauns.  Find the soft water seams and don't be afraid to get back into the sloughs and back waters.  The main river channel and banks that you usually fish are just too quick right now.  Streamer fishing is an option.  Think big and flashy.  Use something the fish can see and that moves water.
