Blackfoot River at Bonner

Daily River Report

July 21, 2015

With the recetent drop in temp the fishing has imporvoed. Still alot of smaller fish looking up at your flies. (especially in the lower reaches) For the bigger boys try tucking those big attracators and hoopers tight behind boulders and tight against those shady banks.  PMD's and caddis are still active. Yellow and Lime sallies seem to be a thing of the past so start looking towads your favorite hopper patterns (tans, peaches, yellows) as a solid single dry or hopper-dropper fly. Ant and beetle patterns have also been teasing up some fish.

SPRUCE MOTHS!!!  Fish your s-moths patterns or bigger x-caddis or elk hairs. The Spruce Moths have been up higher on the foot. So be prepared.

Smaller Luna Negras have been another good fly right now up there! We got them in the shop!

Chubby/Droppers are our go to rigs now with Golden, Royal, Tan and Purple Chubby's with dark mayfly nymphs or Yellow Sally Nymphs. The good ol rubberlegs still is producing so have a handful of those. Dont forgot san juan worms (keep those smaller reds/pinks) PMD's are coming off late morning into the afternoons and a Cripple or Comparadun will get the job done. Remember the heat puts stress on the fish so please get them back in the water asap. (after a sick grip-n-grin)

We have everything you need to fish the Blackfoot River! Flies, Rods/Reels and other gear.
Hoot-Owl Restrictions...no fishing 2:00pm-12:00pm
