Clark Fork River at Turah Bridge

Daily River Report

May 26, 2015

The Upper Clarkfork River is leveled out and very fishable.  It's quick and off color, but we are still getting into fish.  There is still some moss floating down, but it's settled down from last weeks push of water.  The dry fly thing isn't really there, except around the mouth or Rock Creek.  Right now it's still a sub-surface nymph and streamer thing.  Bigger bugs that the fish can key in on, mainly being Stonefly Nymphs like Double Bead Peacock Stones, Rubberlegs and 20 Inchers along with a San Juan.  Streamer fishing has been good if you can keep the moss floating down off of your streamer for more than a few casts.  It will get better as the water continues to level out and drop.  Not sure what warm temps will do to flows this week.  We might seen another bump...

Clinton to Turah has a lot of log jams and sweepers.  Make sure you stay attentive and be CAREFUL!

The shop is stocked with all the flies you'll need for the Upper Clark!  Come by the shop and see us...
