Clark Fork River at Turah Bridge

Daily River Report

August 19, 2014

Not much has changed from last week up here.  Hopper fishing is good to great and of course the dropper is doing damage as well.  Hoppers in tan, brown, pink and peach are all working with a Stonefly dropper.  If clouds come out and we get some rain the streamer fishing has actually been good.  A Sparkle Minnow, Yellow Yummy or JJ Special will work on those special days.  Attractor flies are also an option now that the fish have been looking up all summer.  Fish are holding in sneaky spots like tailouts, small depressions in shallow water and faster riffles.  Make sure you make sure you hit those looked over spots.

Clinton to Turah has a lot of log jams and sweepers.  Make sure you stay attentive and be CAREFUL!

The shop is stocked with all the flies you'll need for the Upper Clark!  Come by the shop and see us...
