Clark Fork River at Turah Bridge

Daily River Report

July 28, 2014

Hopper fishing is starting to be very consistent on the upper Clark!  It looks like this year could be a really good year as there is a ton of hoppers on the banks already.  A Tan or Pink hopper of your choice with a small attractor off the bend like a Purple Haze, Royal Wulff or Humpy.  Nocturnal Stones are out and a Black or Purple Chubby with a dark stonefly dropper like a 20 incher, Rubberlegs or Kaufman's will get you into fish.  There are a few PMD's still in the morning in certain sections and spinner falls are the time to key in on them.  Caddis in the evening will round out your day.

Clinton to Turah has a lot of log jams and sweepers.  Make sure you stay attentive and be CAREFUL!

The shop is stocked with all the flies you'll need for the Upper Clark!  Come by the shop and see us...
