Clark Fork River at Turah Bridge

Daily River Report

May 16, 2013

Above Rock Creek will really be the only local option this weekend.  We will see how much rain we get and what that does to the river up there.  There is a lot of fishable miles, but some sections have more fish than others.  Right now it's a big nymph and streamer deal.  Big stonefly nymphs, san jauns and rubberlegs under an indicator on the inside seams and bends.  Flashy streamers in yellow/brown and olive/white.  JJ Specials, Sparkle Minnows, Kreelex, Dungeons, Boogie Mans and Silvey Sculpins.  There are caddis, march browns, stoneflies and BWO's out, but the fish aren't keying in on them all that much.  There are spots where the fish are rising.

Clinton to Turah has a lot of log jams and sweepers.  Make sure you stay attentive and be CAREFUL!

The shop is stocked with all the flies you'll need for the Upper Clark!  Come by the shop and see us...

The snowpack for the Upper Clark Fork is currently at 95%!
